I arrived in a country on the other side of the world. It’s almost impossible to be further away from my home in Germany. During my flight I was still a bit sad from saying goodbye, unsure and really tired. But at the same time I was also excited and curious about my future time in Australia. Honestly, I haven’t realized that I will live in another part of the world for the next half year. On the first days I’ve seen a lot of new and fascinating things, so much was different than it is at home. But it was also very stressful because not everything worked out as it was suppose to. After some time, I’ve gotten to know my university and my surroundings, I’ve seen Byron Bay, Noosa and Springbrook National Park. Along the way, I’ve met so many new and interesting people, some of them are friends for me now. Of course there were times, I was really homesick and wished to be at home, I think this is natural. Meanwhile, I’ve settled in here, I really love our apartment and when we’re sitting on our balcony at night and listening to the sea, I’m so happy that I decided to study abroad. Of course, I’m looking forward to seeing my family and friends in Germany again, but I think my time here is running – after all, I’m here for seven weeks now – so I’m trying to enjoy every minute in Australia! 🙂
