Showcasing Australia

Cairns

Welcome to the holidays Explore readers! One of my favourite things about summer vacation is the opportunity to take some time out and travel, so this is an appreciation post. I want to share with you some of my favourite photos taken in some of my favourite places in Australia, showcasing the beautiful and diverse landscapes this country has to offer.

Sydney Opera House

The famous sails of the Sydney Opera House are both beautiful and iconic

SYDNEY

Well known for its iconic monuments (The Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour Bridge and Luna Park to name a few), Sydney has it all. Take in the famous sites from a ferry off Circular Quay, do a spot of shopping in the city, go for a splash at nearby Bondi beach, or devour food at some of the country’s best restaurants. There’s something for everyone in this lively New South Wales capital city!

Royal Arcade Melbourne

With its mosaic tiled floor, glass roof and unique little shops, the Royal Arcade has been a part of Melbourne’s CBD since 1869

MELBOURNE

Melbourne is often deservedly described as the cultural hub of Australia. Located in Victoria, the city is characterised by quaint shopping arcades, some dating back to the nineteenth century and a winding maze of little alleyways which house some amazing little boutiques and cafes – let yourself get lost and you’re bound to discover some gems. If shopping isn’t for you, why not catch a performance at one of Melbourne’s many theatres or learn about some of Australia’s multicultural heritage with a stroll through Chinatown or the Greek Precinct.

Cairns

The clear blue waters and mountainous landscape of tropical Cairns offer plenty of options for adventurous travellers

CAIRNS

If you’re after something a little more tropical why not take a trip to Cairns in North Queensland, home of the very famous and very beautiful Great Barrier Reef. Take a boat trip to Green Island and snorkel in the clear waters surrounded by colourful species of marine life of all shapes and sizes. Once you’re back on dry land enjoy the amazing views from the Skyrail cable car as you take a trip up to Kuranda, a rainforest village with amazing markets and nature walks to explore.

Gold Coast

Sunny skies and soft sandy beaches, the Gold Coast is perfect for a summer getaway

GOLD COAST

Famous for its beautiful beaches complete with white sand and rolling waves, the Gold Coast is the perfect place to soak up the summer sun, and once you’ve had your share of salty air and sandy feet the Gold Coast has plenty of other options to keep you entertained. There are theme parks to get your adrenaline pumping (see my previous post about Movieworld here), inviting boardwalks to stroll along in the Hinterland, plenty of options for shopping and restaurants serving delicious food.

I’ve included some links below if you would like any additional information about any of these amazing places. Happy travels!!
